Our Story
Hi everyone!
My name is Caitlin Chicoli. I am from Brooklyn, NY. I lived there for the first thirty years of my life before moving here to North Carolina. Prior to opening this bakery, I was a teacher for nine years. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I decided it was time to follow a different passion and change careers.
My husband, Aaron, and I started this bakery with the hopes of sharing our love of pastry with all of you! We aspire to create a community using our baked goods. Our hope is that we can enhance life's special moments and make ordinary days more extraordinary!
Growing up in Bensonhurst Brooklyn, I remember my dad complaining about how long he had to wait in line during the holidays for our favorite Italian pastry. As I got older, it wouldn't feel like a holiday until I would stand in line at the bakery. Even an ordinary day was made special by going to Villabate Alba, Rimini, or West End Bakery. Our desserts are inspired by my family's recipes as well as these bakeries I grew up with. We use imported ingredients and traditional techniques to ensure the highest quality. We hope that one day, people will complain about waiting in line for our pastry and always have our cookies available, "just in case."
